The Medical Care app is a comprehensive solution for managing medical appointments, organizing your calendar, and purchasing health products online.
The Medical Care app is a comprehensive solution for managing medical appointments, organizing your calendar, and purchasing health products online.
The Medical Care app was developed as part of my project in a UX UI course offered by Google. Our objective was to identify a problem and design a digital product to address it.
During that time, I encountered difficulties in managing multiple health check-up appointments. With appointments and exams scheduled at different intervals, it became challenging to keep my calendar organized and ensure I didn't forget any appointments.
Through research, I discovered that I was not alone in facing this issue. Consequently, I made the decision to create an application that would serve as a comprehensive platform for booking medical appointments. Additionally, it would provide a feature to view and manage one's medical calendar effectively. Finally, I aimed to incorporate an online store where users could conveniently purchase medicines or health products.
Solution and Goals
When conducting my research, it was crucial for me to develop a product that offered something unique. I observed that there were numerous applications available for scheduling medical appointments in private hospitals; however, they did not align with my vision. My objective was to create a platform where individuals could easily schedule, cancel, or reschedule appointments through a user-friendly interface. Furthermore, I aimed to provide a centralized and organized calendar system. Additionally, I wanted to incorporate the functionality for users to purchase pharmacy products online.
Research Findings
The primary users of the Medical App included adults and seniors who care about scheduling an appointment or treatment in their area of residence. These users are individuals who currently have limited time to schedule over the phone or in person at the clinic, so they get frustrated when they have to contact multiple clinics when they need to schedule exams in different health areas.
I also learned that users like to have information from doctors and to see all treatment invoices in a single application.
Meet the users
Jane is a lawyer at a large firm. He is very careful with his health and has an exam at least once a month. He prefers to make appointments online and finds it difficult to manage the various appointments on different platforms.
Robert is retired but I have been working for a long time in finance. Due to his age, Robert is undergoing leg treatments. It is difficult to find the various invoices for the consultations and therefore needs a platform where all the information about the treatments you have performed can be kept.
User flow
The product
I aimed to create an engaging and contemporary user experience, incorporating a sense of enjoyment, modernity, and easy navigation. To achieve this, I meticulously explored diverse references, patterns, color palettes, and typography combinations, carefully selecting elements that would contribute to the desired atmosphere and tone.
After Thoughts
With the app's design, we can significantly improve product clarity and navigation. For future improvements, I have some suggestions:
Consider adding more information such as testimonials, user reviews, press releases and other supporting data to build trust with users.
During the research period, users would like to see the animation with the progress bar in the purchase process.
For better service, users would like to understand more about the credibility of the service.
Develop the solution to order an ambulance online, allowing users to see their location in real time.
